Albatross Swimming School (ASS) is a registered institution established with aim of saving life, especially those who work and play around water. It is coordinated by Kwami Kpodoh. The swimming lessons are designed to teach individuals (minimum age is 2) the basic techniques of swimming strokes (breaststroke, Front Crawl, butterfly, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and side stroke) and life saving skills.
Albatross Swimming School offers swimming lessons that follow the American Red Cross ‘Learn-To-Swim’ program.

Kwami Kpodoh, owner of Albatross Swimming School has extensive background in aquatics.
“My love for education, children and the water led me to open and operate a swim school”.
Kwami Kpodoh has over 25 years of experience in competitive swimming, coaching, and life - guarding. He is a former swimming coach at Akosombo International School and currently varsity swimming coach at Lincoln Community School in Accra.

He has also taught thousands of adults and children how to swim.
He is a certified International Olympic Committee Level 2 swimming coach, American Swimming Coaches Association Level 1 Coach – International) and Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) UK trained Lifeguard. He also trained in CPR for the professional rescuer and personal survival.
He is a member of World Swimming Coaches Association (WSCA) USA, American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) USA, International Life Saving Federation(ILS) Belgium and Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) UK .

EMMANUEL BROWN

Emmanuel Brown, BSc (Hons), Amateur Swimming Association (UK) Tutor, Royal Life Saving Saving Society, Trainer and Assessor at Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, United Kingdom. He is a regular visiting instructor.

PARTHA PRATIM MAJUMDER

Partha Pratim Majumder, is the Chief Coach of YMCA (Calcutta) and Sree Colony Bhabatarini Welfare Society (a pond) and generate some top State, National & International Level swimmers, Chief Coach of Saturday Club Limited, Ordnance Club Ltd.
He is American Swimming Coaches Association Level 4-International. Worked as Guest Coach in THE FISH (US Silver Medalist Club) at Virginia, USA from Jan’05 onwards for four months. And have the experience to learn and train some top swimmers of USA under the kind guidance of Coach Ray Benecki.
Participated in various swimming coaching clinic in USA and India. Invited and Attended in the ASCA World Clinic’2004 at Indianapolis, USA.

ASSISTING SWIMMING INSTRUCTORS

SOLOMON ALLOTEY PAPPOE, completed Snaps College of Accountancy and Secretary-ship and Graduated from Virgo Consult as a Graphic Designer and as a Computer Lecturer First Class Upper, with Two years working experience as a Computer Lecturer & Supervisor.

He trained at Albatross Swimming School as an Assistant Swimming Instructor, with one year working experience as an Assistant Swimming & Fitness Instructor.

MAUDE AGBOSU, 25 years old, graduates from Accra Polytechnic with Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM).

She is pursuing a course on massage therapy, trained at Albatross Swimming School as an Assistant Swimming Instructor with 9 months working experience.

SYLVIA AMOAKO-KWARTENG, 25 years old, graduates from Accra Polytechnic with Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM).

She intends pursuing a course at Ghana Institute of Marketing and Public Administration (GIMPA) in August 2010, trained at Albatross Swimming School as an Assistant Swimming Instructor with 9 months working experience.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The goal of the Albatross Swimming School is to provide parents and children with fundamental swim knowledge through unique swim lessons in a safe and loving environment.

I assess each child’s swimming ability to develop a program that suits his / her personality and aquatic needs. Albatross Swimming School provides a positive, fun experience your child will always remember.

Teaching children to swim at an early age builds confidence, self-esteem and increases motor skills development. This early exposure will help them be more successful through their lives.
